*** How to Weld Our Headlight Plastic Parts?
Our Headlight Parts Material is Polypropylene (PP) Plastic Same as Original Headlight Material.
There are several methods to weld plastic parts. The most common method of plastic welding is Hot Air Welding.
To Weld our parts with Hot Air Welding; You need an electric welding gun and an appropriate welding rod for Polypropylene to complete the repair.
After you clean and identify the plastic, use the heat of the gun to gradually melt and join the plastic together.
Finish the weld by smoothing it out to create a fix that is stronger and cheaper than a new piece of complete system.
More Details and Steps for Welding our parts with Hot Air Welding method:
1. Clean the plastic with soap and warm water to remove debris.
2. Remove paint or Debris on the plastic with a piece of 80-grit sandpaper.
3. Choose a Polypropylene (PP) rod that matches the type of our plastic.
4. Clamp and tape plastic pieces together to hold the joint in place.
5. Preheat the welding gun for at least 2 minutes.
6. Secure the plastic together by tack welding the ends.
7. Insert a welding rod into a speed nozzle on a welding gun.
8. Move the tip of the welding gun slowly over the plastic for a speed weld.
9. Wait at least 5 minutes for the plastic to cool.
10. Sand the welded joint down with 120-grit sandpaper.
11. Finish the plastic with 180 and 320-grit sandpaper.
